Sage oil is extracted from the Labiai family from the Salvia Officinalis plant. This essential oil has a strong effect on all sorts of problems, but it has to be careful and not used in too much concentration. This is a great oil to relieve grief while stimulating the lymphatic system and helping in female problems such as sterility and menopause. It also helps with skin problems and reduces the size of the skin pores.

Chemical composition

The major chemical components of the oil are pinen, camphén, b-pinen, mircen, lemon, 1,8-cinnol, thion, b thion, camphor, linalol, bornyl acetate and borneol.

Precautions

Sage oil is very strong and should, therefore, be used with caution. It has a slightly toxic effect and should, therefore, be used according to directions in aromatherapy. It should not be used by pregnant women or people suffering from epilepsy and high blood pressure.

Therapeutic properties

The therapeutic properties of sage oil are: anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiseptic, spasmolytic, astringent, digestive, diuretic, antipyretic, hypertension, laxative, stomach and tonic.

Uses:

This oil is high in thionine and can cause convulsions used in high concentrations. Used properly, however, it is very effective in stimulating the digestive system and particularly bad appetite. It also has a strong hormonal effect and is most useful for hormonal problems and rheumatic pain.
Sage oil helps us overcome grief and depression and is used in female sterility and menopause. It has a tonic effect on the urinary tract, the liver and the kidneys.
