Neroli oil is extracted from the flowers of the Citrus aurantium plant of the Rutaceae family. This is one of the most popular essential oils in aromatherapy as it has strong healing properties and an incredible smell. It has a great relaxing effect on body and mind, relieves muscle spasms, soothes heart palpitation and has a great rejuvenating and regenerative effect on the skin. Neroli oil has a sweet, colorful and slightly compulsive scent. It is pale yellow in color and with a watery viscosity.


Neroli oil is extracted from the white flowers of the plant by steam distillation, with yields of about 0.8 – 1.00%.

Chemical composition

The main chemical components of the oil are camphine, b-pinene, terpine, nerola, neryl acetate, farnesol, geraniol, linalool, nerolidol, linalyl acetate, methyl anthranilate and indole.



Neroli oil is not toxic and sensitizing, it does not irritate the skin and is not phototoxic. However, it should be used in moderate amounts as it has a strong relaxing effect that can interfere with your sober thinking and judgment.
