The Roman Chamomile essential oil is made from the plant Anthеmіѕ Nоbіlіѕ (Сhаmаеmеlum Nоbіlе) and is most famous for its names English chamomile, sweet chamomile, and garden chamomile.

The essential oil of German chamomile is made from the Маtrісаrіа Сhаmоmіllа (M. rесutіса) plant, it is also famous with its names blue chamomile an Hungarian chamomile.

The Roman an German chamomile possess excellent calming properties, however, the roman is more effective in healing impatience and anxiety. They also show positive effects on menstrual problems and menopause.German chamomile is most effective when applied to the skin, it has a calming effect on the skin and it speeds us up the tissue regeneration process.

Properties:

Essential oil of Roman chamomile has a sweet apple-like aroma and is light blue in color and watery. Essential oil of German chamomile also has a sweet flavor, but it is dark blue in color and a little thicker.

Extraction

The oil is extracted by steam distillation, the Roman chamomile gives about 1.7% concentrate while the German chamomile gives about 0.2-0.4% of the total mass.

Chemical composition

The main chemical components of the Roman chamomile oil are pinene, camphene, b-pinene, sabinene, myrcene, 1,8-cinnene, g-terpine, caryophyllene, propyl angelate and butyl angelate.
The main chemical components of German chamomile oil are chamazulene, Bisabolol, bisabolol oxide A, bis bisabolol oxide and bisabolol oxide A.

Precautions

Both types of chamomile oil are not toxic and do not irritate the body, but too much use should be avoided, especially during pregnancy.

This essential oil has a strong effect on children, especially when they feel irritated and impatient, such as in the case of milk teeth or colic. It is used by women to relieve menstrual problems, abdominal pain, gall bladder and throat infections. It also helps relieve allergies, hay fever, and asthma. Applied to the skin soothes acne, eczema, rashes, wounds, dermatitis, itching on the skin and other allergic conditions as a whole.
German chamomile oil is used to:
This essential oil has a soothing effect on the mind and body and is excellent for treating any kind of inflammation, either internally or externally. Stimulates the liver and gallbladder, thus improving digestion and helps in menopause. When applied to the skin, it soothes irritated skin and helps with allergies, eczema, psoriasis and other skin problems. It contains high levels of a-bizabiol, which promotes regeneration of tissues.
